The World, According to Aunt Shug”, commissioned by ARCO Collaborative, is a three movement work, that explores the potential of two instruments (Horn and Trombone) not typically known as a chamber music ensemble grouping. Even more, this is an exploration into their potential to provide perpetual rhythmic and melodic counterpoint within African based polyrhythms. The hope is to create a gratifying musical experience for both the performers and the audience as they foray through the calisthenics of constant role changing.
